Virus Filtering
With the implementation of our new mail server, EBTech is proud to announce that our real-time virus scanning solution is now fully functional. With the implementation of this new technology and the development of features by our system administrators, you can rest assured knowing that we are scanning all incoming email for viruses. Outgoing messages that are delivered by our mail server are also scanned during transmission for viruses. This means any attempts by your computer to deliver known viruses through our mail servers will be unsuccessful. EBTech customers have additional peace of mind knowing that they are not unintentionally sending viruses to others. This process, with our high-performance servers, does not delay the delivery of any of your mail either incoming or outgoing.
As with any virus scanning solution, we strongly recommend that you be vigilant and take extra precautions to prevent from infection. We suggest that you install a virus scanner such as Norton or McAfee on your computer and remember to update the definition files regularly. Virus scanners are only able to detect files and patterns that match known viruses so it is important that you apply updates on a regular basis.
It is also important to note most viruses take advantage of known vulnerabilities in software packages and operating systems. It is imperative that you regularly apply patches and updates to your computer.

SPAM/Junkmail
EBTech's new mail server solution also provides a SPAM filtering solution that is second to none in the business. With much of the technology developed in-house, we can attest to the robustness and effectiveness of the solution. With on-the-fly adaptability, our system is capable of building rules as it scans messages while identifying junk mail. This enables us to filter out a greater percentage of SPAM than most other solutions. In addition to these filtering techniques, we take advantage of some of the most respected open-relay database lists to further increase the effectiveness.
With less than 3% of all messages actually being legitimate email, you will appreciate the effectiveness of our virus scanner as we approach filtering out 97% of all the SPAM delivered to our server and subsequently to your mailbox. Combined with the 20,000 viruses we block, weekly, we are proud to say (and prove!) that our SPAM filters are effective and efficient. And, best of all, they're FREE to our clients!
